A Post Office Box (PO Box) is a mailbox that is intended for people that needs to provide an address, but can’t or don’t want to disclose their actual address. This will even include homeless people who would find the PO Box as an invaluable tool for their needs. A PO Box will come in 3 sizes with the small being large enough to handle 7-8 letters. PO Boxes will not work for private shippers such as UPS. The prices are also uniformed throughout the nation and as follows:
- Small: $10/month or $100/year
- Medium: $15/month or $150/year
- Large: $25/month or $250/year
Small is good for most individuals or families. Medium is good for people that receives a lot of mail, or small businesses. Large is for larger businesses that would receive a lot of mail. When signing up for a PO Box, you would automatically be registered for Postal Notifications.
All PO Boxes will have a zip code that would begin with the county number followed by a 4 character code beginning with 0. This helps authenticate that the person is mailing to the correct address.
