Postage

There is a number of postage options. There is standard postage which is intended for day to day mailings. 95% of the mail will likely be standard postage. You will also have your priority mail, and express mail. As mentioned in the home page, Kal-Post will use their weights by ounces and not grams. In the event that there is a tracking number, that number will be able to show information for 180 days. After 180 days, the information will no longer be available.

Standard Postage

Standard postage is a US Sized #10 envelope which will be the standard for mailing. Letters, Bills (if that still happens), and other mail will likely be sent off with this type of envelope. Postage for standard postage is 50¢ + 25¢ per ounce. This will mean a letter up to 1 ounce will cost 75¢, and a post card will be 50¢. Standard envelopes do not have tracking information unless using Kal-Stamps.

International mail is 75¢ + 25¢ per ounce. This is more expensive than a domestic letter as the other carrier system needs to be paid. It is required that all international mail must have the destination country on the last line of the address. A letter can take up to 6 weeks to reach the destination. All international mail leaves the country via airplane, so every international letter is destined to Capita City.

Certified Mail

Certified Mail is much like a regular envelope, but will require a signature in order to be released to the recipient. This signature will be signed on a KCI PDA which will be displayed horizontally. There will be a special app that the postal carrier will use. The signature will be available for viewing the next day. Certified Mail is $4.75+25¢ per ounce.

Certified Mail is not available for international mail. With that said, if you need to have assurance that a letter reaches an international destination, then consider Priority, or Express Mail.

Priority Mail

Priority Mail is a guarantee that any domestic mail will arrive at its destination within 2 business days. This will be Monday – Friday (excluding holidays). Priority mail can be used with the standard #10 envelope with a Priority Mail sticker on it, or a custom envelope provided for the customer for free which is used exclusively for Priority Mail. Priority Mail for letters is $10, and more for packages. Since this is a fictional entity, I won’t try to figure out reasonable rates for packages. All Priority Mail will include a tracking number. If using Kal-Stamps, this tracking number will be in your mail history. If using the post office, a tracking number will be printed on the receipt. Priority Mail is $10.00+25¢ for the first ounce. Packages will have more favorable rates.

Priority Global Mail is more expensive. This is $15.00 + 25¢ per ounce. Packages will receive more favorable rates, and delivery will be within 7 business days. Priority Mail should be inserted into a letter envelope rather than the #10 envelope.

Express Mail

Express mail is a guarantee that any domestic mail will arrive at its destination the next day if dropped off before noon. As with Priority Mail, this is between Monday and Friday (excluding holidays). As with Priority Mail, Express Mail will have a tracking number. Express Mail is 15.00+25¢ per ounce for letters. As with Priority Mail, packages will have more favorable rates.

Express Global Mail is more expensive. This is $20.00 + 25¢ per ounce. Packages will receive more favorable rates, and delivery will be within 3 business days. Express Mail should be inserted into a letter envelope rather than the #10 envelope.
